MEET STACEY S. LOTTEN

Artist. Educator. Innovator. 

Stacey S. Lotten is a Fine Arts Director, dance and theater educator, and artistic director from New Orleans, and currently based in Dallas, Texas. She started her arts career as a student at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, and after graduation, she received a Masters of Education and teacher’s certification in Secondary Education in modern dance from Texas Christian University. She is an expert in various aspects of dance and theater arts education, staff management, curriculum development, financial management, and an in-depth knowledge of performance artistry. 

With her passion rooted in providing a holistic arts education to children, Stacey is the Founding Artistic Director of West Main Fine Arts Academy, the first elementary fine arts academy in Lancaster Independent School District that strives to incorporate a robust arts education into the traditional curriculum in elementary schools. Within this role, she worked directly with elementary fine arts staff and students, coordinating events and facilitating exposure activities. She also served as the co-writer of the academy handbook course descriptions, and direct operations of the academy, including audition and scheduling processes. 

She has spent the last seventeen years working within the Lancaster Independent School District, as a coordinator for all visual and performing arts departments in the district, dance director at Lancaster High School, and most recently, Fine Arts Director for Lancaster ISD .

Working in secondary education has afforded Stacey the opportunity to choreograph, produce, and co-direct 200 participant shows annually at the Meyerson Symphony Center and the Majestic Theater, along with bringing visiting artists from professional companies and studios to choreograph for the fine arts department in LISD. She is the facilitator, organizer, producer for many student performances throughout the academic year. 

Stacey also performed with two companies based out of the South Dallas Cultural Center - the Beckles Dancing Company for six years and Exhibit Dance Collective for three years. 

She is grateful for her continued educational leadership and performance opportunities, and will always enjoy being a true and well-rounded artist and educator.
